A Modern Legend- Page Fifty-nine

“Which one of you has the crystal” the wizard Mannick asked before anyone else had a chance to speak.

Cerys held up her hand meekly, and then showed him the small velvet pouch.

“And he explained to you why it is so important that King Leonars receives this crystal?” he asked, his grey eyes meeting hers.

She pulled her mind back from wondering how old he was, how much he had seen in his lifetime, how many spells he knew, and managed to nod. She must have looked like a complete fool to him, she thought to herself. A confused fool who should never have been entrusted with something so precious.

“Excellent,” he said, as though he had not noticed how baffled she looked. “Come with me. I have a few things to tell you about your spell book and magical powers.”

She did not argue. She got up from her seat and followed Mannick out of the dining hall, leaving be hind her brother and friends. Hopefully, she thought to herself, this wizard would reassure her about her ability to make herself useful on this quest.

About Legends of Lorata

Eleanor Willow is the author of the high fantasy series Legends of Lorata, which takes place on a medieval-style world filled with elves, dragons and faeries. There is also a fourth race, one that is rare and magical: the angelic Starr. Lorata is a planet where four gods are known: good, evil, elemental and celestial-- and there are plenty of legends about them all! One of the most important ones is the prophecy of Jenh's champion, Loracaz, who is promised to return to the land whenever evil threatens to take hold. There are currently for books planned. The first one is completed and currently being edited. Any news I have on about publishing will be shared as it comes in!
