Wormhole

The WordPress Daily Post asks where I would want a magical tunnel to end if I could travel instantly to anywhere on Earth.  What they failed to recognize was that not everyone wants to stay on Earth.  The rebel in me feels compelled to take some artistic license with this prompt.

Lorata has been a world in my mind for a very long time.  It’s where I go when I need a break from this world, and now the only difference is that I’m writing things down.  Lorata will carry on even when I am no more.  But really, I think a lot of writers have a world in mind where they wish they could go, adventures they wish they could have.  I’m not saying that I would want to be there when Z’L’e’s truth is revealed, or when book one comes to an end, but playing in Jzamneh forest certainly would be fun.  Imagine frolicking through a forest where even the bark of the trees is colorful, and their are flowers and faeries everywhere… and the dragons are smaller, with delicate fae-like wings.

I wouldn’t mind living in the villages with the elves.  The setting in Lorata is somewhat medieval, somewhat Renaissance… just without the blood-letting and daub.  You’d be surprised all the uses Earth’s medieval people used for dung!  But there is oppression from time to time… Zarrek tries to free the people of Cioria from it, but… well, read book three!

Sure, I have read some Cracked articles about how it might not be all that great to live in a fantasy or sci-fi world, but let me add this: I want to live in the part where’s peaceful.

About Legends of Lorata

Eleanor Willow is the author of the high fantasy series Legends of Lorata, which takes place on a medieval-style world filled with elves, dragons and faeries. There is also a fourth race, one that is rare and magical: the angelic Starr. Lorata is a planet where four gods are known: good, evil, elemental and celestial-- and there are plenty of legends about them all! One of the most important ones is the prophecy of Jenh's champion, Loracaz, who is promised to return to the land whenever evil threatens to take hold. There are currently for books planned. The first one is completed and currently being edited. Any news I have on about publishing will be shared as it comes in!
